From the Outer Banks to the Blue Ridge

The thing I love most about NC is that you can drive to the ocean or the mountains without leaving the state. The NC mountains are some of the most beautiful and the Blue Ridge Parkway runs through them down to the Smoky Mountains. I only discovered the Outer Banks a couple of years ago after having lived in NC for the past 23 years and immediately fell in love with them. Although both the mountains and the ocean are beautiful at anytime of the day or season, early morning sunrises have always been my favorite.

I haven’t had as much time to travel since I started college last fall but definitely did some on my vacation this past week. We started the week off at Kill Devil Hills and Bodie Island and then I was able to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway for a day trip up to Grandfather Mountain yesterday to work on my time lapse assignment during the 62nd Scottish Highland Games. It has been a busy and fun week but I am ready to go back to school. I have missed my photography classes, my classmates and my instructors. I can’t believe with only two more weeks of summer semester, I will then be moving on to my second and final year. I have really enjoyed this semester with blogs, time lapses, movies and magazine assignments and am excited to start Photojournalism classes in the fall.
