I am currently a photography student at RCC, planning on focusing in photojournalism. I also consider myself a conservationist, an environmentalist, and a humanitarian. I believe that to create change in the world around us, we have to be willing to stand up for what is most important to us. Photography can be a powerful tool in this endeavor to bring attention to important issues . I created this blog as an assignment for one of my classes, but also as a way to share my journey as I learn and grow in my photography.
I love everything nature, so I decided to share a photo of one of my favorite places to begin my blog. During a much needed break after spring semester, I was able to visit Cades Cove in the Smokey Mountains. The mountains are my haven. Over the years, they have been my place to go in times of stress, times of sadness (when I lost my grandparents), times when I just needed to be alone, and many times of happiness with my family. Since starting school last fall, I haven’t been able to visit as much as I would like, but these as well as our other majestic mountains, hold a special place in my heart. I hope to share many more photos of nature, wildlife and my photo assignments with everyone in the weeks to come.
